General Tools for Everyday Files and Text
Nothing here is aimed at a particular job title. These are the small jobs that come up in marketing, admin and design work, and each one is a single page rather than a feature buried inside a suite.
Pick a tool
- QR Code & Barcode GeneratorTurn any text into a coloured QR code or barcode, then export PNG, JPG or SVG.
- SVG Recolor & OptimizerUpload an SVG, recolour it with a visual palette, and strip out unused code.
- Photo Metadata Viewer & ScrubberSee the GPS coordinates and serial numbers hidden in a photo, then strip them without touching a pixel.
- Genogram & Ecomap MakerMap a family across three generations, then map the systems around it. Export PNG, JPG or SVG.
- Text Format CleanerStrip messy HTML styling, fullwidth characters and hidden characters from pasted text.
- Excel Column TransferMatch rows by key and copy columns from one Excel into an existing form, formatting intact.
Small jobs that still have to get done
Putting a scannable code on a package, recolouring an icon a designer sent you, tidying a block of text a colleague pasted out of Word — each takes a few minutes, but none is worth installing software or creating an account for, and the free web versions usually want you to upload the file first.
Which one you need
- To turn a URL, some Wi-Fi details or a product reference into something a scanner can read, use the QR code and barcode generator, which recolours and exports vector files.
- Before a photo goes out by email or online, check whether it carries GPS coordinates and a body serial number with the photo metadata viewer and scrubber, which strips them without touching the pixels.
- For an SVG icon in the wrong colour, or one stuffed with editor leftovers, use the SVG recolor and optimizer.
- For text pasted out of Word or a web page that carries invisible styling and fullwidth characters, use the text format cleaner.
- To turn a family's relationships into a chart an assessment report can carry, use the genogram maker, which uses the standard social work notation and exports a de-identified version.
- When one list is spread across several sheets and what you have to hand in is a form whose formatting cannot change, use the Excel sheet merger, which fills the existing form without disturbing its borders, headers, footers or macros.
Where the file is actually processed
On your own machine. An uploaded SVG is read into the tab's memory with the browser's FileReader and never sent anywhere, and an exported PNG, JPG or SVG is assembled in your browser before the download starts. There is no server in the middle, so unreleased product numbers, internal URLs and unpublished brand artwork are all safe to paste.
Anything to install or sign up for
- No install — these are web pages.
- No sign-up, and no account to sign up for.
- No usage caps or file-size tiers, because no operation costs any server time.
- The trade-off is that nothing follows you to another device, so settings start fresh there.
Other categories
- Developer tools — Schema diagrams, HTTPS requests, JWT decoding and JSON field extraction, all running locally in your browser with nothing uploaded.
- Finance tools — Work out compound growth, a minimum viable freelance rate, how long cash stays tied up in a business or a household, and which pack on the shelf is actually cheaper.
